Vegetables and Fruits

In the late 1970’s, Robert became despondent over the use of his documentary images and decided to find a more innocent way to make his living. The new commercial work would pay for his serious concerns. Because of his background in history and art history and his experiences in photojournalism, he brought new ways of thinking into still-life work, more akin to making pictures from life, but as well he brought a spare, reductive style to some assignments. Luckily these ‘innovations’ quickly catapulted him into surprising success.
