This was one of Robert’s earliest storytelling assignments. It was made in conjunction with a film he and his partners in Chicago Films were commissioned to shoot by the BBC about an Autism Clinic in New York City. Having witnessed this cruel ‘care’ of the children, it was sufficient to convince him that as Woody Guthrie had turned his guitar into a weapon to kill fascists, he would turn him camera into a weapon to pursue “truth”.
