Working with Ricky Romain on the film that would become re-Appearances was not only a huge pleasure which fostered an ongoing friendship, but it was also an aesthetic adventure. Listening to him talk about his work with such commitment and passion while also recognising his creative and poetic way of thinking has had an on-going effect upon my work.

This is a lyrical film about the sources, inspirations and methods of a painter whose work is devoted to human rights. Ricky Romain is a focused, committed multi-talented man who also happens to be one of the best non-Indian sitar players in England.

You can purchase an illustrated appreciation of his work as an artist here.
