This second workshop on 26 March, 2022, at 4pm is about understanding ways to create documentaries
An introduction to
TRANSFORMING THE WORLD WITH DOCUMENTARY-MAKING
from Robert Golden
This workshop will help clarify essential, practical and creative ideas, and provide ways of discovering and creating your films. It is not a how to use a camera or shoot a scene, it is about how to refine your themes and find how they create content that demands certain subject matter. It is about the filmmaker’s role in the world and how they can contribute to a better world. It is about asking yourself questions and finding ways to answer them. This is all about the fundamental substructure of documentary making.

ABOUT ROBERT GOLDEN’S TEACHING
“Robert’s films and teaching touch my emotions, move me deeply, not giving answers but getting under my skin, making me ask myself how can I do anything about these problems, or even if I want to. They leave me feeling disturbed, uncomfortable. Throw down a gauntlet perhaps…? “ J.U., England
•“This present course you are giving is deep and rich. I salute you openness, your way of seeing and sharing… so much more to say..but I will stop there for now.”. A.W., England
•“What Robert said about a storyteller being a messenger of reality, bringing gifts of understanding” has stuck with me. There’s a poetry to it.“ M.A., Somalia
•“I have participated in a couple of projects held by Robert Golden, and I think his way of teaching is very inspiring, because it gives young people a chance to learn things they’ll never encounter in school or college. You will learn what the world needs, that is pure you, liberated of ego and expectations, with empathy and love for the humankind, but also a tendency to find naked and heavy truth. Only if you are willing to take a path to discover some things about yourself and your environment, your result from these projects will be the best thing that ever happened to you in your life. Of course, you must be honest with yourself and hardworking to take out the best, but if this happens, you will definitely experience a transformation. It is all up to, how far away are you willing to go, and Robert will help you discover the beauty of that journey.”B.H., Bosnia
